DIGITAL TV AND FREEVIEW

For good TV aerial reception areas, you can often install what is known as a contract type TV aerial. These are basic aerials for TV, that are often installed on short aerial masts and small brackets on the chimney stack, or highest point like a gable wall. Contract tv aerials however are not recommended for digital, according to the CAI or Digital UK. Both of these bodies recommend that the aerials have a balun in place, which is a means to connect the aerial cables to a tv aerial. It makes for a far better and more efficient connection and in theory, provides a better potential for digital tv reception. Please see digital aerial explanation for more information.
